| 2006REVIEW Unity Coalition has once again had a full and successful year, thanks to the support, motivation and involvement of our community. Here are some of this years higlights… CAPTURED: John Valdespino, Suspect in the murder of transgender Julie Argueta. Unity Coalition spearheaded a national media awareness campaign and raised additional reward monies to assist in this arrest. UNIFIED HEARTS & UNITY COALITION Present the Youth In Search Of A Cure Concert in Ft. Myers, Florida August 25th - The concert is to help -the AIDS Resource Council of SWFL- and to raise funds so that they may continue with the effort of providing help to those most in need. The Youth in Search of a Cure Concert gives our youth the opportunity to express the unification toward a common goal, HIV/AIDS Educational Awareness. TOY DRIVE: for Children Living with HIV/AIDS Now in its third year, the Unity Coalition Toy Drive successfully collected and distributed nearly 1,000 new, unwrapped toys to needy children. Distribution of these toys within the community is overseen by Unity Coalition and the Miami-Dade Health Department’s Hispanic Initiative for this important community effort.
